After enactment of the law on the ban on smoking in public places has changed the habits of smokers, and not always for the better, the barometer shows TOBACCO Niquitin / Ifop published May 31, 2011, during the World No Tobacco Day. Indeed, smokers are now more likely to smoke early in the morning or stringing together two cigarettes in succession, in anticipation of a long period without smoking, or to reduce their presence in non-smoking areas like restaurants
Directed by pollster Ifop for GlaxoSmithKline Consumer Healthcare, the barometer TOBACCO Niquitin / Ifop confirms the sharp increase Smoking Women (With 28% of smokers against 24% of smokers among adults aged 18 and over), but slightly smaller amount (10% of smokers against 15% of smokers consume more than 20 cigarettes per day).

They are also more likely to have changed their smoking behavior since the entry into force of Act 2008And in particular to smoke two cigarettes after when they know they can no longer smoke after (38% against 27% of smokers). This new trend to anticipate periods of weaning results in an increase in the proportion of smokers reporting advantage of short passages on the outside to light a cigarette (54%) and smoking early in the morning before going to work (53% ). More importantly, the ban on smoking in public places causes a lack of smoking in 40%, prompting 35% of them to reduce their presence in such places.
