BlackBerry is The Safest Tablet

Playbook became the first device in the category to be certified needed to be employed in federal agencies of the United States

The Canadian firm Research In Motion (RIM) announced that it received FIPS 140-2 certification for PlayBookThe first to achieve this success within the segment.

The Standard Federal Information Processing (FIPS 140-2) is used to judge the safety of mobile devices, servers and routers for use by federal agencies like the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI).

The FIPS (Federal Information Processing Standard) is given by National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST, for its acronym in English).

"This certification allows the U.S. federal government buy playbook with confidence, knowing that the tablet meets with its requirements of IT policies to protect sensitive information"Said Scott Totzke, Senior Vice President of Security for BlackBerry Research In Motion.
